What Remains After We Pass

What Remains After We Pass

“What Remains After We Pass” is an allegory about the environmental and ecological damage we are wreaking upon the planet, from the dropped litter, to the wholesale destruction of ecosystems. The granite in the wall represents the lasting resilience of the planet, which was here long before, and will remain long after, our destructive species has passed

Our Shadow Sides

Our Shadow Sides

“Our Shadow Sides” represents the shadowy anonymous people, who troll on the social media platforms, with incredible and cruel posts. Societies and individuals have a dark side. This facet of human nature has also been gaining credence in the extremes of nationalist politics

Watching Continents Drift

Watching Continents Drift

“Watching Continents Drift” considers our increasing knowledge of political, social, and economic divides across the globe. Perversely, despite increasing access to all this information, 24 hours a day, it only deepens our sense of being powerless observers

Barchi di Migranti 40 x 40cm

Barchi di Migranti: is from a series of photos of burnt out migrant boats in Sicilly, a traumatic and sometimes unwanted arrival of others. At first glance there appears to be people walking across the desert, yet it is a Sunday morning on a Dorset beach.

Arriving and Degrading 40 x 40 cm

Arriving and Degrading: loosely follows a theme of human activity in the South West of England. Within this piece are images of Napoleonic fort iron door, the lost mining industry, the reduced fishing industry and reduced fish stocks, often replaced by shoals of tourists.

Time and Tide Tarry for None: is the overarching theme that any arrivals can only be measured in time, which is considered to flow like a river. In days when much travel and trade was around our coast, arrival times were constrained by the tides.
